We Offer 3 Types of Dental Crowns

We use several materials in order to create dental crowns. We have made 3 types of crowns available:

  1. Our standard porcelain crowns, also known as PFM (Porcelain-Fused-to-Metal) crowns, resemble real teeth and are highly durable when prepared correctly. They are commonly used for dental implants and cost only $270 per crown unit.
  2. E.max crowns and veneers are entirely metal-free porcelain options known for their strength and aesthetics. E.max crowns cost $365, and E.max veneers are priced the same.
  3. Zirconium crowns are computer-designed and precise. After preparing the tooth, a 3D scan guides a computer-controlled milling machine to create the inner cap, ensuring an exact fit. Porcelain is added to provide a natural look with translucence. This method results in a long-lasting crown that seals well and looks natural.

Linking crowns together creates a “bridge” to replace missing teeth. A “three-unit bridge” uses three crowns, while a “four-unit bridge” replaces two teeth. The cost depends on the number of units, priced similarly to individual crowns.

In addition to the options mentioned, we can provide gold crowns and porcelain crowns fused to gold. However, due to the high price of gold, these crowns are considerably more expensive and less competitive compared to other options. Zirconium crowns, while of higher quality, cost over $100 less than gold crowns, making them the more preferred choice among patients.

At BajaDent Tijuana, we have made available three types of dental crowns. Each type is made out of a different material: PFM porcelain, E.max all porcelain, and Zirconium Ceramic. The description of each crown type is given below.

What are dental crowns?

Dental crowns cover and enhance damaged teeth, restoring their appearance, alignment, and shape. They’re commonly used on implants to improve both function and aesthetics, with options for matching the natural tooth color.

Recommendations for Patients

  1. Restore their tooth to its original shape and size.
  2. Supply additional support for a tooth that has already been treated and/or prevent an already vulnerable tooth from being damaged.
  3. Restore and cover a tooth that is discolored or unattractive.
  4. Use a tooth as a sort of abutment to attach a bridge.
  5. Protect and cover a tooth after the treatment of root canal.

Procedure of Dental Crowns in Tijuana

  1. Consultation: It starts with a dental check-up and consultation to assess the need for a crown.

  2. Tooth Preparation: The damaged tooth is reshaped to accommodate the crown.

  3. Impression: An impression of the tooth is taken to create a custom crown.

  4. Temporary Crown: A temporary crown is placed while the permanent one is made.

  5. Crown Placement: Once ready, the permanent crown is fitted, adjusted, and cemented in place.
